- Fine wine farming traditions -
Dela på Facebook Dela på Twitter

Worcester is located in the Breede River Valley, at the foot of magnificent Brandwacht Mountain and Langeberg Mountain and surrounded by vineyards and beautiful green valleys. Worcester has fine traditions in wine farming; wine producing started in the area for more than 250 years ago and it's a well deserved stop along Route 62.

On either side of the city runs Breede River and Hex River and here you can find a great variety of plants, ranging from fynbos, which is very common in the south-western parts of the province, and many succulents that are normally found in the drier areas of the Karoo. In Worcester lies the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden which has the largest collection of indigenous succulents in South Africa.

During your time in Worcester, it is almost a must to visit the very famous KWV Brandy House. You can also take a boat trip on one of the rivers, enjoy wonderful food and good wine, visit museums or just stroll along the streets to look at all the old buildings that are scattered along the city streets.
